top 10 pictures from the week ~ 29.7.10 (and an ugly one)

Guess what? I only collected ten pictures this week, not the normal gazillion. Have been a bit busy, sorry. So a very easy task to put this post together. But due to popular demand, when you get to the end you will see the ugliest of ugliest sights...can you contain your excitement and anticipation bloggy peeps??
It wouldn't be a week without pink now would it?
and I love this little boat...read the full story here..

I would really like to curl up here with a book or have a chat to the portraits...that middle one wouldn't put up with much nonsense by the look of her...
isn't this a beautiful collection...
and see....I can do white!

...but not for too long :)
And now, but only because Sarah asked for a picture like the one of the study I posted midst clean-up (which she apparently found highly amusing!!) and Jenny who thought I was being a big girl's blouse by not showing you...here is a picture of the mayhem that was, until around 5 o'clock yesterday...my courtyard, or a corner of it. The pile has now been dealt with you'll be pleased to know, but there's still a long way to go before we have a blogworthy courtyard photo I'm afraid...
Why do I start these things?? I'm clearly barking mad...well not really (the talking to the portraits comment was a joke, you know that right?). Right.

  1. I think it's great to show the before picture of the courtyard - just think how nice it will be when you compare it to the after. Lovely brick walls - can picture planters filled with lavender in front of them! Much nicer to be cleaning up the garden in cooler weather! Have a great rest of the week! Mary PS It's Wednesday night here and we are in the midst of a huge thunderstorm - dog is hiding out!

  9. That courtyard looks like hard work. But there must be some chaos before you can truly appreciate the calm - you'll have it looking great by spring. xx

  12. YAY! Fantastic, I love it! Thanks for posting the patio pics - there is way too much order and perfection in blogland me thinks. I like to see a little chaos now and then to make me feel like I am the only chaotic one out there.
Just love that first room with that cosy couch and cushions. Wonderful!

  13. Dear Kerry, Well, the courtyard! I should so love to say encouraging things - how lovely this will be, what potential, charming - but the right words are escaping me just at the moment. So, instead, I shall restrict my comments to the galaxy of images: a very pretty pink sofa, such a patriotic room, white always works so well, I love the dash of colour, etc. etc. Meanwhile, I shall await with real interest the outcome of the courtyard.

  14. You are very brave my girl & good on you for starting the project in the middle of a Canberra Winter! I've told MOTH if he doesn't do a tip run this w/end with all the accumulated building junk & debris that's been sitting in our courtyard for months, I'll have to take drastic action. I'll force feed him chips & cake & that lost 14kgs. will be back overnight!

  17. AAAArrrrrgggghhh, my eyes, my eyes.... cover them... look at that courtyard....

LOL..... Only joking Kerry, I love these shots. It is the only way we can truly appreciate your magic makeover and I look forward to seeing those when you eventually get to it. It looks like a bit of hard work but I know it will be worth it at the end and you can enjoy the area.
I love all over your other images too and I am now off to read about that cute little boat! Have a great weekend. ;-)
