And now, but only because Sarah asked for a picture like the one of the study I posted midst clean-up (which she apparently found highly amusing!!) and Jenny who thought I was being a big girl's blouse by not showing you...here is a picture of the mayhem that was, until around 5 o'clock yesterday...my courtyard, or a corner of it. The pile has now been dealt with you'll be pleased to know, but there's still a long way to go before we have a blogworthy courtyard photo I'm afraid...
Why do I start these things?? I'm clearly barking mad...well not really (the talking to the portraits comment was a joke, you know that right?). Right.
I think it's great to show the before picture of the courtyard - just think how nice it will be when you compare it to the after. Lovely brick walls - can picture planters filled with lavender in front of them! Much nicer to be cleaning up the garden in cooler weather! Have a great rest of the week! Mary PS It's Wednesday night here and we are in the midst of a huge thunderstorm - dog is hiding out!
ReplyDeleteI love the image from Desire to Inspire... and I am feeling inspired by the images of your courtyard! I really need to get out into our garden, but I keep procrastinating about it!! haha! :) Hazel
ReplyDeleteI bet it felt really therapeutic to be out in that courtyard which must look gorgeous come spring and summer. Lovely top ten as always. Amanda
ReplyDeleteOkay, now I get why you previously made the Baghdad reference! He, he. I bet it feels good to have tidied it up now though.
ReplyDeleteI love the second and fourth pics.

ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the after pics of the courtyard, you have been working hard! :)
ReplyDeleteThe courtyard will be beautiful, I know. I love all the pictures but I have to admit, I love my whites!

That courtyard looks like hard work. But there must be some chaos before you can truly appreciate the calm - you'll have it looking great by spring. xx
ReplyDeleteStunning photos Kerry..Love all of the sofas especially the velvet blue and grey linen (a lot of design styles in that room - how do they do it?)We all have our own areas like your courtyard at some stage. Brave of you to show it, maybe we all should.
ReplyDeleteRebecca x
Gooooooorgeous images as per usual Kerry :)
ReplyDeleteNow that's a whole lotta honeysuckles. Can't wait to see pics of your courtyard :)

YAY! Fantastic, I love it! Thanks for posting the patio pics - there is way too much order and perfection in blogland me thinks. I like to see a little chaos now and then to make me feel like I am the only chaotic one out there.
ReplyDeleteJust love that first room with that cosy couch and cushions. Wonderful!
Dear Kerry, Well, the courtyard! I should so love to say encouraging things - how lovely this will be, what potential, charming - but the right words are escaping me just at the moment. So, instead, I shall restrict my comments to the galaxy of images: a very pretty pink sofa, such a patriotic room, white always works so well, I love the dash of colour, etc. etc. Meanwhile, I shall await with real interest the outcome of the courtyard.
ReplyDeleteYou are very brave my girl & good on you for starting the project in the middle of a Canberra Winter! I've told MOTH if he doesn't do a tip run this w/end with all the accumulated building junk & debris that's been sitting in our courtyard for months, I'll have to take drastic action. I'll force feed him chips & cake & that lost 14kgs. will be back overnight!
ReplyDeleteMillie ^_^
Well the brickworks looking good and you still have room for a chair so I guess it could be worse!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGroundwork and preparation are always the most timeconsuming and the least inspirational of tasks but your courtyard will be a beauty!
ReplyDeleteAAAArrrrrgggghhh, my eyes, my eyes.... cover them... look at that courtyard....
ReplyDeleteLOL..... Only joking Kerry, I love these shots. It is the only way we can truly appreciate your magic makeover and I look forward to seeing those when you eventually get to it. It looks like a bit of hard work but I know it will be worth it at the end and you can enjoy the area.
I love all over your other images too and I am now off to read about that cute little boat! Have a great weekend. ;-)
Dear Kerry,
ReplyDeleteA fabulous top 10 this week ..... I love the Union Jack room ....well, I would, wouldn't I ?!!
.... and your courtyard was a job and a half, wasn't it ?!! I bet you had to open a bottle of red after that little lot !! hehe.
Enjoy the weekend, Kerry. XXXX
