I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day. Nor am I a grumpy old woman. Truly. I've never liked it. Maybe that has something to do with the lack of male attention as a taller than all the boys, not quite attractive enough teenager...not bitter, no not at all. I object to its overt commercialism, the tacky tokens claiming to be a demonstration of love...and shock, horror, I really don't like long stemmed red roses! If I wanted to get a Valentine's card (and I don't), this would be nice though (sorry, I don't remember where I got this image...so if anyone can tell me I'd love to acknowledge)...
Now the MGM (most gorgeous man) is, it is fair to say...just a touch on the vague side. He wouldn't have a clue when Valentine's day was, or even today's date probably. I'm pretty sure he knows it's Sunday though. He turned up to my house on Friday night with a rose from his garden, and then did it again last night (this time with a Magnum ice cream as well...even giving me the almond flavour when its his all time favourite)...now that's what I call a demonstration...
Do you like the upside down egg cup masquerading as a bud vase?

I was raised with Valentine's Day being a RED LETTER DAY in our home. Mainly because it was my brother's birthday. This had the knock on effect or removing much in the way of romance, but meant there was always a party and cake on the day. Husband here is also vague, but I'm better at asking (demanding) some romance ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is the most perfect unValentine's Day gesture ever. Particularly with a Magnum!
ReplyDeleteThanks for Rewinding at the Fibro!
