A very early start for me as I'm flying to Melbourne at 'sparrows'...back tonight, but it will be a very long day. I'm hoping that I've worked out how to schedule this post for when I'm in the air...if not, I have no idea when you might be reading this. So morning, afternoon or evening whatever the case may be!
You know how I said I was off to do some more work on this damn lovely chair? Well I didn't actually touch it over the weekend...blogger project panic procrastination perhaps? But I did try my hand at a few other things. They're not finished yet so here's just a sneak peek.
And sometime over the next few days I will tell you a funny silver leafing story...and reassure you that silver leafing will definitely not be my next career move!
I did manage to put these fabric hangers that I bought on our brief holiday in Leura in their intended spot though...
I like how the carving on them echoes the tapa cloth fabric given to me by a dear friend who lived in Papua New Guinea for over 20 years. Kinda...sorta...yeah??
I'm not so happy with the way the tapa's been framed (I won't be going back there!) but I do love the piece itself...
And...my first give-away is starting to take shape...I'm very excited by it...here's a teaser for you...
And I planted some tulip and freesia bulbs in my tiny garden...have no idea if they'll grow...and no doubt I'll forget I've planted them... so hopefully come spring I'll have a nice surprise. See you soon bloggy peeps. Melbourne here I come...

Have fun and be safe!

Hey, the silver is looking great! And I like the look of your giveaway already, so can you enter my name about a hundred times?

Have fun in Melbourne - I adore that city!
ReplyDeleteAs for your silver leafing....last time I attempted that I had little silver flakes all through my hair. It was a mess!

ReplyDeleteWell, even though you didn't get to the silver leafing, it still sounds and looks like you had a very productive weekend my dear:) Love your fabric hangers they look gorgeous under your beautiful fabric! Hope you have a great day in Melbourne! ~ Tina xx
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a good trip to Melborne. I must say I'm completely lost on both your sneakpeeks - the project and the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteIt's a pity the silverleafing is turning out to be such a pain, as it looks like it should be therapeutic. I'm guessing there's not going to be a matching set done any time soon.
Have a great time in Melb Kerry. I can't wait to see your projects, the silver on the chair looks great!
ReplyDeleteJxx
Kerry you are such a tease. I have no idea what the giveaway might be. The silver leafing is great, you have to keep going. Hope you packed your winter wooolies for Melbourne it is supposed to get very chilly on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteOK .. I'll take a guess at what the secret giveaway teaser is .. my first guess - an upside down teacup .. 2nd guess - a grand piano (Ok, that's a silly guess I expect considering the cost of postage) .. so, getting to my 3rd guess - a .. umm .. vase??
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, I have the musical Camelot on my iPod! Rxx
ReplyDeleteVery curious Kerry, can you tell me more about the fabric hangers? Tapas are a tricky thing aren't they? We have a very large one that was given as a gift and I have no idea what to do with it. It is enormous. Yours is much more manageable and looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip!
Jeanne :)
Girl, you certainly have an eye for fabulousness! The pictures in your blog are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteWoah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this site. It's simple, yet effective.
ReplyDeleteA lot of times it's hard to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and appearance. I must say you've done a awesome
job with this. Also, the blog loads very quick for me on Opera.
Excellent Blog!
